Half Steer ---pickup date will be July 11th, at the earliest, here at the farm, or we will deliver to our farmer market locations, or Wilmington NC at our regular drop there. Order on website, we will contact you and discuss cutting orders and deposit. This is a preliminary date with the understanding that there may be packer slow downs beyond our control. Deposit is required to hold this packing date.
Average hanging weight 234 lbs.
Average finished product weight 163 lbs.
Hanging weights vary, also finished product will vary as each animal will not weigh the same.
Cost is $10.49/lb finished product. This cost does not include the broth bones, marrow bones and liver. If you want the bones and liver there is no charge for them.
Based on a 163 lb. finished weight animal the cost for a half would be $1,709. Cash or Check preferred, 4% percent charge for card.
Finished weight ranges from 160 to 200 lbs finished product.
Deposit - $250 when your order is confirmed. Delivery should be within 30 days after order is confirmed. Deposit will go toward the total price and is not refundable after custom cut sheet is filled out and animal has been harvested.
Mays Meats in Taylorsville is the packer that we use. They are Animal Welfare Approved and are regularly audited to be sure that they meet AWA standards.
When you place your order you will get an email confirming the order. Then we will call you and discuss the custom cut sheet and help you fill it out with your requested cuts. Please note that our processor will try to cut the steer according to your wishes, be aware that sometimes the cuts are not exactly like the cut sheet. Our cutters are skilled and sometimes know how to get the most out of each animal.
Half steer has to be picked up at one of our regular drop points or at the farm. We do not ship this because it usually is five large boxes.
